Prospective Students

Welcome! Thank you for your interest in the University of Washington's Electrical Engineering Professional Master's Program (PMP). Our PMP focuses on modern technical topics and the latest university research, giving you the depth you need to drive innovation. Whether you recently graduated from an undergraduate program, are already working as an electrical engineer, or want to break into a new field, the PMP will prepare you for new and rewarding career opportunities.

This program serves the growing need for engineers and scientists with advanced degrees in the Puget Sound region. With a leading curriculum equivalent to that of our daytime master’s program, the PMP offers a wide range of courses covering areas such as smart grid and renewable energy; systems, controls and robotics; electromagnetics; signal, image and video processing; embedded and mobile applications; microelectromechanical systems; and wireless communications.

The curriculum is designed to fit the busy schedules of working professionals and can be pursued part-time or full-time, with courses meeting one weeknight per week on the UW - Seattle campus. You can complete the program in three years of part-time study, or one-and-a-half years of full-time study, with students choosing courses based on their areas of interest.

Electrical Engineering is a rapidly growing field with an array of rewarding work options - a Master's degree opens up the possibilities even more. We hope you will take a look around our site to explore the EE Professional Master's Program in more depth and contact us with any questions you have. Best wishes in your professional and graduate school endeavors.

The mission of the Professional Master's Program (PMP) in Electrical Engineering is to provide a nationally-leading MSEE for professionals in innovative products, research, and development.
